We are lucky to have a partnership with p:ear that has included visits to the farm and an incredible mural being painted on what my youngest son lovingly calls "the murder shed." We also provide p:ear with donated vegetables, herbs, fruit, berries and flowers.
p:ear is a Portland based non profit that works with youth who are experiencing or transitioning away from homelessness. They have been around since 2002 working with youth and providing a safe space where they are treated as people, equals in value in the world. p:ear's services include providing supplies for art making as well as bringing in local artists to work with youth, an art gallery where they show there work and sell their work. They also provide space for making music and recording music, education, employment and housing assistance, job training through their coffee training, bike works program and they take youth out on amazing recreation adventures climbing mountains, river rafting and so much more.
In July 2024, artist and fellow p:ear volunteer eyedrawp (@eyedrawp) designed a mural for our shed, mapped it out and then he and a group youth came out to paint the mural in.
